This is a novel effect and method. A pack of cards is removed from its case, whereupon the case instantly becomes two dimensional (flat). The pack is then held side on to the spectator in the right hand. The left hand approaches, squeezes the deck which is now half the thickness. This is repeated three more times, with the deck becoming slimmer until just four cards are left. These are slipped into the flat box and pocketed.
The method is practical and self contained but this is not a routine you can do under walk around or table hopping conditions. It feels like something developed for a competition act and is most suitable for a formal parlour show, where the angles are controlled.
The gimmicking is simple, well constructed and can be customised to any poker deck and final four cards.
The video instructions are clear, with two handlings explained, one quite simple and the other at an intermediate skill level.
The suggested routining switches both the final four cards and the case, allowing everything to be handed out.
A small grumble, my set had not been perfectly aligned, reducing the illusion of a full normal deck. The video shows how cards can be adjusted and re-stuck but it would have been nice for this not to be necessary.
